Whitney A. Hey, Esq.

Attorney

Legal Assistant:

April Cameron, Office Manager/Paralegal

Biography:

Whitney A. Hey primarily handles cases involving Probate Law, Elder Law, and Trust and Estate Planning. She also handles Step-Parent and Kindred Adoptions under Domestic Relations Law. Whitney first became interested in going to law school when an interfamily conflict meant that a guardianship hearing was necessary for her grandmother, and she attended the hearing as moral support.

Whitney’s goal is to help make the estate planning process as easy as possible for her clients, so that at the end of the day they feel confident that their wishes will be handled appropriately when they pass away. She loves to help guide families through the probate process and to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible for her clients. Additionally, Whitney focuses on helping people wade through the Court process when dealing with incapacitated family members in guardian and conservatorship cases.

Whitney graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2017 after completing the 2-Year Accelerated program. While in law school she volunteered and interned with the honorable Judge Clary of Spokane County Superior Court, the WSBA Moderate Means Program, the Office of the Police Ombudsman which focuses on civilian oversight of the police force, and she interned with the Colorado Jefferson County’s District Attorney’s office. Whitney also participated in the Street Law program which taught constitutional law to high school students, and she participated in school wide moot court competitions.

After law school Whitney passed the July 2017 bar exam and began her work as an associate attorney for The Moller Law Group LLC. which focused primarily on family law, probate, and trust and estate planning. In 2020, the firm was purchased by the Business Law Group and rebranded as Family Law Group, P.C.

When Whitney is not at work, she enjoys reading science and historical fiction. She is a Colorado native and enjoys hiking in the beautiful state of Colorado with her standard poodle Dax (who is named for Jadzia Dax from Star Trek DS9.) Whitney also enjoys learning new skills and searches out classes for new hobbies. Among her current hobbies are gardening, knitting, and stained glass.
